McCulloch Announces FREE Notary Training Opportunities
Classes to be Held in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls and Helena
HELENA, MT – Secretary of State Linda McCulloch has announced free training opportunities for Montana notaries. The live classes, which will be held in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls and Helena, fulfill the training requirement for new notaries and provide legal professionals the opportunity to earn 3.5 CLE credits which have been approved by the State Bar of Montana.
“New and existing notaries can benefit from training,” Secretary McCulloch said. “Not only do our classes fulfill the statutory requirement for new notaries, they can be an excellent review for currently commissioned notaries looking to refresh their knowledge on best practices for protecting themselves, their employers and the public from fraud and forgery.”
In addition to hosting in-person training across the state, the Secretary of State’s Office offers a free electronic course. The online training program is broken into five, 20-30 minute modules which can be completed in intervals or all at once. Secretary McCulloch has also certified training courses offered by a number of private organizations. To find out more about training courses for Montana notaries, or to sign up for a live class, log on to the Secretary of State’s website at sos.mt.gov/Notary.
