Celebrate the Chippewa Cree Tribe’s
First Joint Sovereign Filing System

On behalf of the Montana Office of the Secretary of State and the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation, I extend to the public an invitation to attend a historic celebration ceremony in the Montana State Capitol. The ceremony will mark the adoption of the Chippewa Cree Tribe’s first joint sovereign filing system with the Office of the Secretary of State. The filing system, under the uniform commercial code, is an important tool for enabling and supporting tribal economic and housing development by improving access to commercial and consumer credit.
