Federal General Election Will Be Held on November 2, 2010
MONTANA - Secretary of State Linda McCulloch is reminding Montanans that absentee voting for the November 2 Federal General Election opens on Monday, October 4, 2010.
Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot. To vote absentee, fill out an Application for Absentee Ballot at your county election office, or download one from the Secretary of State's website at sos.mt.gov/Elections. The Application must be received at the county election office by noon the day before the election.
Need to Register?
Now is a great time for Montanans to register to vote in the Federal General Election on November 2, 2010. Regular registration ends at 5:00 p.m. on October 4. Those who miss the deadline may register in person during Montana's late registration period - which runs from October 5 until the close of polls on Election Day. Check with your county Election Administrator or Clerk & Recorder for more information.
Registered voters can check their voter registration status, find their polling place location, and track their ballot using the office's latest online election tool My Voter Page. Logon to sos.mt.gov to get started.
Voter Information Pamphlets Mailed This Week
Every federal election year, the Secretary of State produces a Voter Information Pamphlet (VIP) with general election and ballot issue information. The VIP does not include candidate information.
Hard copies of the pamphlet are being mailed this week to every household with at least one registered voter. It is also accessible in alternative formats, including Braille, audio, large-print, CD and electronic.
To request additional copies or an alternative format, contact the Secretary of State's Office by calling 1-888-884-VOTE (8683) or TTY (406) 444-9068.
