Montana Secretary of State Linda McCulloch Enhances
Security of Elections With The Launch of Online “Fair Elections Center” www.MontanaFairElections.com

HELENA, MT - To complement her ongoing efforts to enhance the security of Montana elections, Montana Secretary of State and Chief Elections Officer Linda McCulloch today launched a new website to make it easier for citizens to report potential state election law violations.

Montana Fair Elections Center ~ Report Potential Election Law Violation ~ Secretary of State Linda McCullochThe Secretary of State’s “Fair Elections Center” provides a simple online submission form for citizens to submit reports of potential election law violations related to state and federal elections, including activity related to voting and signature gathering for petitions. Once a report is submitted to the office, it will be documented, reviewed, and if warranted, passed on to the appropriate authorities.

“We all share the duty to protect the integrity of Montana elections,” Secretary McCulloch said. “The Fair Elections Center improves the oversight of state and federal elections by creating a simple and centralized procedure for citizens to document their concerns as a formal report.”

This isn’t the first time Secretary McCulloch has encouraged Montanans to report potential election law violations. In 2010, McCulloch launched the state’s first formal reporting procedure during the ballot initiative and signature gathering period. The “Fair Elections Center” enhances and streamlines the 2010 procedure by providing a more centralized location for citizens to turn in reports either online, by phone, through mail, or email.

“Elections in Montana are fair, honest and accurate,” Secretary McCulloch said. “The site is just another way to give Montana voters confidence in their elections, further ensure transparency, and continue our great track record.”

Montana’s “Fair Elections Center” is accessible online at www.MontanaFairElections.com. The state’s fifty-six county election administrators have the option to add a direct link to the site on county webpages.
