Phillips and Teton Counties Receive Federal Elections Grants
March 26, 2009
(Helena) - Secretary of State Linda McCulloch recently awarded the following federal grants and reimbursements to Montana counties:
. Phillips County = $2,341.50 for AutoMark support and maintenance
. Teton County = $2,742 for AutoMark support and maintenance
"AutoMark machines allow people with disabilities and other special needs to vote privately and independently," said McCulloch. "These federal dollars help ensure the machines are available to the public and working properly at every election."
All 56 of the counties in Montana are eligible for the federal dollars, which stem from Montana's portion of the Help America Vote Act. So far in 2009, ten counties have received nearly $60,000 in similar grants.
